Jumbo chicken 10k per carton

Although, frozen chicken remains a banned item for importation into the country it remains a staple food for the Nigerian populace.

why? That would be a topic to be discussed later.

The current price of a carton of a carton of Jumbo chicken laps is now 10k as against 8.8k for which it was sold in the previous week.

It is being rumoured that the nigerian produced frozen chick would see a change in price from 900 per kilo to about 1k per kiloa 10% increase.

these price changes are believed to be as a result of the clamp down on smugglers of frozen  chicken into the country thus  creating a scarcity of the product in tge local market. As a result sellers now hord the commodity and sell at a higher rate.

Crates of eggs aren't left out in the current price increase as a crate now sells for 1100 as against 900 for which it sold at a fews weeks back. That is after the slash in the number of crates supplied by suppliers for unclear escuses of low feed import.

It is beign rummoured that the farmers used foreign feed to boost egg production but that due to a clammp down on import of such feeds the farmers are forced to switch to local feed which has greatly affected production. Normally scarcity of eggs are witnessed in January just afterthe yuletide celebrations as farmers must have sold their old layer.
